
The head of the Cleveland Port Maritime Council, John Baker, accepted the 2012 Seaway Award presented by the editors and publishers of Great Lakes-Seaway News.
Baker was selected by a poll of the readership of those who were nominated. The award recognizes “the efforts and achievements of an organization or individual within the stakeholder community of the Great Lakes-St. Lawrence Seaway System that exhibit qualities of innovation, creativity, entrepreneurship, tenacity and leadership that has resulted in positive benefits and results for the System.”
Baker, who is from Cleveland, is the Assistant General Organizer for the International Longshoremen’s Association, an MTD affiliate.
