Delaware Valley PMC Elects New Officers

blog-stock-new

Brother Scott Reeves will serve as president of the Delaware Valley and Vicinity Port Maritime Council after being elected to a full two-year term during the organization’s spring meeting on April 28.

Reeves stepped into the position last year upon the death of the council’s longtime president, John Spadaro. PMC delegates remembered Spadaro with a separate moment of silence before recognizing all other workers who passed away in the last year as part of its Workers’ Memorial Day tribute.

Joining Reeves, who is the recording corresponding secretary/business agent for IUOE Local 25 Marine Division, as council officers are Vice President Jerry Abell (who doubles as the MTD Vice President) and Secretary-Treasurer Joe Baselice.

During their lunch meeting, delegates reviewed the council’s financial statements and began plans to contact local Philadelphia-area charities in order to provide assistance. Baselice urged delegates to help recruit young people into the maritime industry apprenticeship programs.

MTD Executive Secretary-Treasurer Daniel Duncan updated those attending on maritime and union-related activities in Washington. He also swore in the new officers.
