Hawaii PMC Pa’ina Reflects A Return To Traditions

JULY 28 2022 HAWAII PMC PA INA REFLECTS A RETURN TO TRADITIONS
Posing during the Pa’ina are (from the left) Luke Kaili (MEBA), House candidate Wayne Kaululauu (IBT), Lisa Akau (AFGE), House candidate Jolyn Prieto (IAFF), Justin Pauoi (IBEW), PMC Pres Randy Swindell (MM&P), PMC Exec Sec-Treas Hazel Galbiso (SIU), and Jason Bradshaw (IW).

While the fear of covid infection remains in the back of many people’s minds, more and more Port Councils are returning to activities they conducted prior to the pandemic.

Welcoming guests to the Maritime Pa’ina are PMC Exec Sec-Treas Hazel Galbiso (standing) and Lisa Akau of AFGE.

Earlier this month, the Hawaii Ports Maritime Council held its traditional Maritime Pa’ina. Approximately 80 people attended, including PMC affiliates, local elected officials and candidates.

“”People were very happy to see each other in person,” noted PMC Executive Secretary-Treasurer Hazel Galbiso. “It was an intimate group with good fellowship.”

The July 7 barbecue (pa’ina is barbecue in Hawaiian) was held at the Café Julia, YMCA, in Honolulu.
