Union members and their families from 15 different international unions gathered at the Carpenters’ Lakeview Banquet Hall in Rossford, OH to celebrate the Toledo Port Council’s annual Grill Lake Grill-Out Barbecue.

The September 9 event culminated a week of union activities which included more than 10,000 union members marching through downtown Toledo in the yearly Labor Day Parade. The port council sponsored a float in the parade, which featured participants wearing red t-shirts with identical “We Are One!” logos on the back. “This is our way of thanking those help the port council during the year as well as those who participated in the parade,” noted Toledo Port Council President Don Cree. “We also use it as kickoff for the fall election season.”
