Shoot for a Cure Featured
South Florida PMC Vice President Kris Hopkins, MTD Executive Secretary-Treasurer Mark Clements, and Toledo PMC President John Clemons represented the Maritime Trades Department at the event.

Union members and their friends raised approximately $40,000 for the March of Dimes during the Ninth Annual Shoot for a Cure sponsored by the Greater South Florida Maritime Trades Council.

The June 2nd event at the OK Corral Gun Club in Okeechobee, FL, featured over a hundred participants from a wide array of international unions (including MTD affiliates CWA, IBEW, IUOE, IUPAT, MEBA, OPEIU, SIU, SMART, and UA), as well as representatives from several U.S.-flag shipping companies.

This is the 21st year for the union-supported Shoot for a Cure events, which are hosted around the country.

“Let everybody know: Labor gets it done,” added South Florida Maritime Trades Council Vice President Kris Hopkins. The Maritime Trades Department couldn’t have said it better ourselves.
